Animals of a Sagebrush Ranch

Animals of a Sagebrush Ranch

In 1912, forty-year-old Alice Day Pratt independently homesteaded 160 acres in Crook County. After nearly twenty years of teaching in Central Oregon she left for New York and published her experiences in books and national magazines. In 1931 she published the children’s book Animals of a Sagebrush Ranch due to her love of animals and the outdoors. Stahancyk, Kent and Hook obtained a rare copy of this book and saved it from extinction. It is now a part of the vast Stahancyk, Kent & Hook library collection
