General Information

The Prineville office of Stahancyk, Kent & Hook is located in a spacious home on a quaint corner lot in the heart of downtown, just blocks from the Crook County Courthouse. Hometown of the firm’s founder and senior partner Jody Stahancyk, Prineville was founded by Monroe Hodges in 1877 when he filed the original plat for the city. However, six years earlier in 1871, the post office for the community had been established with the name of Prine, but changed to Prineville in 1872. Long known for its exquisite beauty and natural resources, Prineville is a destination for adventure seekers with a passion for camping, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. It’s location along the Crooked River and close proximity to the Ochoco Forest draw people for such recreation.
